A little black lace dress and a bow bag

Hello everyone,

I had a long holiday since the holy month of Ramadan ended on this Sunday here in the Gulf. Eid holiday started and ended on Wednesday. However the great sale season is on for another 2 weeks. I got two new handbags from Balenciaga and YSL. I will post their pics later when I use them. ^_^

On the first two days of Eid, some of our ASEAN colleague would host open house reception to mark the end of Ramadan. I went to the open house of the Indonesian Ambassador on 26 June 2017. I love love indonesian food like nasi gorang. On that day I picked the little black lace dress and teamed it with my Carolina Herrera audrey bow bag. It was pre-owned bag with good condition. Love it. CH brand isnt so popular in my home country but very well known here in the Gulf. This vintage bow bag is so cute. It is not too big but you can put a bit of things on it. It is a nice sized everyday use.

Thanks for reading.

Floral culotte jumsuit on a day without dolphin

We booked a trip to watch dolphin in Bahraini sea two weeks ago. Today finally they called to confirm that it is possible to go. The boat trip left from Sitra Port to area near Al Dar Island. The whole trip took about 1.5 hours but we couldn’t see any dolphins. I guess that there were too many jet-skis and lots of people in the area during the weekend. It was disappointing but noone can guarantee if the dolphins living in natural habitat would come out. However we enjoyed the trip so it wasn’t so bad at the end. I hope I can take the trip again and this time I can see the dolphins of Al dar island.

Till then.

My look : floral culotte jumpsuit, sandals are from Max Fashion from India, white tee and sunglasses are from Splash, a fashion brand from Middle East and bag is from Forever21.

For this floral culotte jumpsuit, I got it from sale but it was too long for a short woman like me (only 5″ 1′). I therefore shorten it but designed to make it even shorter. I think if it was at my ankle-length, it would make me look shorter than reality. Actually it was my first time to wear the jumpsuit. The bright yellow colour of this jumpsuit is irresistible for me so I bought it. It is easy to wear and good for the super hot climate in the Gulf countries, but very difficult to take off when you have to go to the toilet.

Blue pom pom sandals – love it

20170510_071501

You can say I am slow when it comes to trendy fashion so I only recently bought this lovely pom pom sandal in bright deep blue. I love it. Today I have a day off so I decided to wear it to embrace my free time with my K. The sandal  is a cheap version of a expensive brand but it is still very comfortable to wear. Since my K wears his spiderman sandal with the similar colour, he is very happy. He loves spiderman and blue colour. It is amazing to know we develop the love for colour at the very young age. The pom pom on the sandal makes it looks stylish and trendy. If you dont own any of this sandal, I recommend you to have one i  your shoe collection.

The top I bought because of its style which is very much proper wear for the hot summer here in Bahrain. I also love the black rose embroideries on the top as the colour is so opposite and very contrast.

I am ready to enjoy my day off with my K now. See you soon.

Pleated long dressy jacket for evening out

Apart from lace, I am crazy about pleated top, dress, skirt or jacket. I got this lovely pleated long dressy jacket from a shop called Splash in Bahrain a while ago. It looks amazing and so lady-like. I think wearing it is an appropriate attire for attending tonight reception at the Hotel in town. I dont want it to open too much so I pinned it with a simple pearl pin. Not much accessories today. Later on I will change my heels from a simple black pair to a fancier one. Like what I wear today very much.

H&M black pleated dress for work

I have been a big fan of this Swedish brand, H&M, for many years now. I recently bought this black pleated dress from the brand as a cheap version of Designer’s brand. Love it. I also bought a other black pleated cover from Dorothy Parkin, English brand for plus size women a long time ago. They are perfect matches. It is easy to wear and yet looks incredible elegant. I think I can wear it for day and night. The fabric isnt too shiny but soft so it holds my figure very well and doesnt make me look large. For the price of it and for what I get out of it, I will score it 10 out of 10.

H&M olive dress on weekend with my boy

I bought this lovely olive dress from H&M a while ago and wore it yesterday on a day out with my boy. The dress was lovely and thin for a hot summer in Bahrain but somehow the fabric got easily stained. Once stain got in, it leaves some marks which doesnt look nice. I took K to a boat trip and went on to visit Bahrain National Museum. It was so much fun but the dress looked so spoiled when I was home. It was easy to clean though that was a plus side.

Another unique sa-rong for an Embassy Bazaar

Today I had to go to an Embassy Bazaar which is an annual event here in Bahrain. It has been organised by the Mother and Child Society for many many years to raise funds to support a vulnerable group of people in the society. Many embassids participated at this event including my embassy. I chose to wear simple white lace top and a statement sa-rong. My sa-rong is in shocking pink with amazing patterns. It was weaved by hand to create amazing patterns. A unique technique has been taught from generation to generation. Every time I wear this amazing piece of sa-rong. I can feel warmed by love and care of the persons who created them. Some pieces can take up to half a year or more to make. Love them.

This special sa-rong was made by a group of tribe called Thai Leu. Their work is amazing and recognised by colourful pattern. I got it from a trip to Chiang Rai province in Thailand.

Hope you like it as much as me.

A black dress and a brown belt

Good morning Sunday!

I have always been a chubby girl. I am quite aware of my body shape which is not categorised as curvy but more as boxy.  I do not have a very slim waist line to divide my body like the curvy girls. My top and bottom parts are quite equally big. After one pregnancy and one big operation of ectopic pregnancy, my belly has never be the same. I however try to dress up to cover the bad parts and hi-lighten the good parts. Thanks to many bloggers out there, I have learnt a lot from you guys. Being stylish is not always naturally born but from researching as well as from trials and errors. I sometimes tend to wear things which are not for a boxy girl but why not. Like wearing this brown belt on the black dress to enhance my waist line. Well, if you like it, go for it. It is sometimes about the attitude to hold your body with confidence. Self-confidence can be the great finishing touch!

Have a wonderful day to you all.

How to wear long skirt when you are short?

20170420_075915

Hi there

I have never heard of the Swedish clothing brand called “COS” before. One day recent I went to do some anti-stress shopping at  Bahrain City Centre, I saw quite a number of shoppers carried the shopping bags with brand-name and logo of  “COS”. I then asked one pass-by shopper about the brand. She kindly said that it is a good Swedish brand with 70% discount on many items. Because of the word “70%” I decided to go to the shop and have a look.

I like the brand almost immediately. The designs are simple but timeless and trendy. The fabric is good quality and the cutting as well as pattern are well-design. I bought a few items there including this black long skirt. I am not a big fan of the skirt that long enough to cover to my knee because I think it will make me look shorter and fatter.

But this skirt doesn’t make me look shorter and fatter at all. I think the perfect cutting of this pencil skirt held my body better than I thought. And the fabric is comfortable but structured. So if you want to try a long skirt please keep in mind that

– The cutting of the skirt should not be too loose. Pencil skirt style is the best.

– The hight waistline is highly recommended So it will help creating the vision of extra body lenght.

– The fabric should be soft structure but not too soft.

– The length of the skirt should not end at the widest part of your tights or legs because it will only create a enlarge vision of your legs.

– Pair the skirt with stylish blouse.

When lace meets lace for working day

20170418_075933

Hello from Bahrain,

I love laces and I found out that I have so many clothes with lace decoration. Today I picked two pieces and wore them to work. My white top is from the Arabic design shop called CHOICE. It is cotton lace with symmetric pattern which I thought it will go well with my black and white lace skirt which I got from Thailand. I think lace is luxurious and sophisticating. It can create lady like yet professional look on you. And it is always trendy too.

Tips of how to wear lace with lace for work:

1. Patterns should be complimentary with each piece and not too extravanganza. Otherwise it will look like you are going to the party not to the office.

2. Colour should not be too bright or loud and wothout gliterring.

3. Plain accessories. Simple court shoes and structure handbag will pull your look more professional.

Enjoy wearing lace to work you guys. Have a good day.
