Denim and black is a good combination

The first day of Ramadan here started from Saturday,  I took Kevin to an indoor playground because the weather was so hot. I decided to wear denim on black trousers so I create a casual and chic looking (well that was I thought). I love this rainbow handbag which I got from Paul Smith shop in Bahrain. The colourful stripes added so much fun in the look. A pair of flats were from Cath Kidson. I do love the design but they are not for heavy duty mum day out. They were comfortable but got so many creases or wringle lines after a few times I wore them so I don’t quite like the look now. They look very old and torn. >_<

We didn’t do much on that day because we didn’t want to be thirsty or hungry. Ramadan means all restaurants are closed during the day. Food and drinks are not allowed to be consumed in the public places including inside your car (if being noticed you can be fined). But for children they can drink and eat in public area so it wasn’t that bad for Kevin.

 

Floral culotte jumsuit on a day without dolphin

We booked a trip to watch dolphin in Bahraini sea two weeks ago. Today finally they called to confirm that it is possible to go. The boat trip left from Sitra Port to area near Al Dar Island. The whole trip took about 1.5 hours but we couldn’t see any dolphins. I guess that there were too many jet-skis and lots of people in the area during the weekend. It was disappointing but noone can guarantee if the dolphins living in natural habitat would come out. However we enjoyed the trip so it wasn’t so bad at the end. I hope I can take the trip again and this time I can see the dolphins of Al dar island.

My look : floral culotte jumpsuit, sandals are from Max Fashion from India, white tee and sunglasses are from Splash, a fashion brand from Middle East and bag is from Forever21.

For this floral culotte jumpsuit, I got it from sale but it was too long for a short woman like me (only 5″ 1′). I therefore shorten it but designed to make it even shorter. I think if it was at my ankle-length, it would make me look shorter than reality. Actually it was my first time to wear the jumpsuit. The bright yellow colour of this jumpsuit is irresistible for me so I bought it. It is easy to wear and good for the super hot climate in the Gulf countries, but very difficult to take off when you have to go to the toilet.

Beach wear day

Lately i am into buying swiming suits and beachwear. I haven’t bought a sexy swimming suits before but now I have gained more confidence thanks to blogging. I am more daring into many outfits that I have never thought of wearing them earlier. Today I am out to the beach with K. Actually it is the beach near our front garden of our apartment complex. Se have a wonderful time together. I felt fabulous in my beach wear.

We stay in Amwaj Island in the northern part of Bahrain. It is a man-made island from land reclaimed area. The water is very greenish blue and very clear. K enjoyed making his sand castle until his lil friend came along. They moved from beach area to the pool and stayed there for 2 hours. Until the sun got too strong to bear. Tomorrow we will go on a boat trip to watch dolphine. Hope we see many dolphines. Will keep you guys updated.

Long black jacket in the heat

Somebody say wearing black in a desert? Yeah why not? I wore new long black jacket to work today in the heat of desert climate which was around 34++. In the middle of the day it can soar to 40+. Well air con helps me a lot today. LOL

My new COS white shirt on a day off

I got this piece from COS on sale. It was simple but with stylish ending. I couldnt help but buying it. My son took this photo shot for me when I was off to drive him to school like every morning. I wore the tribal-style necklace in shocking pink which makes my outfit looks more interesting.

I normally wear size 14 but this shirt is size 10. However it can fit me well and hopefully it will inspire me to lost more weight.

I decided to pair my outfit with a pair of simple beige sandals and D&G handbag which I got it a few years back when I went out shopping with my mum. The piece reminds me of a wonderful time we had together. I still miss her very much. Time only helped me to cope with her passing but not completely healed. I had a special bond with my mum so her death striked me so hard that I couldnt swallon it. To wear or carry things like this handbag brings back the fond memory of us together. I felt warm with love. Love you mum!

How to wear long skirt when you are short?

I have never heard of the Swedish clothing brand called “COS” before. One day recent I went to do some anti-stress shopping at  Bahrain City Centre, I saw quite a number of shoppers carried the shopping bags with brand-name and logo of  “COS”. I then asked one pass-by shopper about the brand. She kindly said that it is a good Swedish brand with 70% discount on many items. Because of the word “70%” I decided to go to the shop and have a look.

I like the brand almost immediately. The designs are simple but timeless and trendy. The fabric is good quality and the cutting as well as pattern are well-design. I bought a few items there including this black long skirt. I am not a big fan of the skirt that long enough to cover to my knee because I think it will make me look shorter and fatter.

But this skirt doesn’t make me look shorter and fatter at all. I think the perfect cutting of this pencil skirt held my body better than I thought. And the fabric is comfortable but structured. So if you want to try a long skirt please keep in mind that

– The cutting of the skirt should not be too loose. Pencil skirt style is the best.

– The hight waistline is highly recommended So it will help creating the vision of extra body lenght.

– The fabric should be soft structure but not too soft.

– The length of the skirt should not end at the widest part of your tights or legs because it will only create a enlarge vision of your legs.

– Pair the skirt with stylish blouse.

Blue flower and my skinny jeans

I took K to do shopping with me yesterday. He was good at it. He helped me to pick up things and gave a lot of compliments to me when I tried on clothes. I love going shopping with a 4-year old. ^_^

What I wore yesterday mainly from H&M. I bought this top from H&M 3 years ago. Almost forget about it. The bright blue flowers on my top reminded me of bright spring in Europe now. Lot of friends posted their pictures of how they spent their long holiday in Europe. This top also reminded me of my mum. I bought this top while I went shopping with my mum. She was not only a good company but also my best friend. I still cannot get over the grief of lossing her which came so sudden last year. However it is more bearable these days. Little things reminded me of her. Hope that we will meet again some day Mummy!

I wore my new pair of heels from H&M. Love the neutral colour on it. My purse is blue water snake skinned bag from Chloe.

Sunflower day!

Hello everyone,

Today I feel yellow is the right colour. The temperature in Bahrain keeps on rising. During the day it can reach 40 degree celcius. It is so hot and burning so I think yellow is a good choice of colour to wear. Dont you agree? Red will be too much of a burning feeling here. ^_^ I wore simple tee and cropped yellow trousers with my new yellow heels that I bought from Promod a fews weeks ago. They were a perfect match. I carried a small but colourful purse I got from Paul Smith shop in Bahrain for 75% discount! Love the bright colour on it. Hope you like my picks of today.

Celebrating Thai New Year Day in pink

Happy Thai New Year Day or Happy Songkarn Day everyone,

Today is our traditional New Year so I wanted to wear my new bright pink embroided shirt to mark the occasion. Many decades ago the Government of Thailand annouced that the offically national New Year Day is 1 January. Thailand and Thai people then enjoys celebrating two New Year Days. Let end our old chapter of our life and welcome the new beginning. Wish you all happy a very happy New Year.

Another black lace dress

Hi there,

I found this dress a few months ago. I love the lace pattern on it. It is so delicate and lady-like. Not my everyday office attire. But I want to celebrate my sister’s birthday today. So I feel that it is a good occasion to wear such a beautiful and luxurious dress. It is quite hard to be away from the one you love on special days but thanks to Steve Jobs, we have smart phones. Distance seems shorthen and it is not impossible to feel like I was there with my sister to share her birthday cake. Happy Birthday to you Netty.
